Our Story
South Canton Electric was founded in 2006 by Alan Holt with a clear purpose: to provide Canton, OH residents and businesses with an electrician they could actually rely on. At the time, Alan had already built years of hands-on experience across residential and commercial electrical work in the area. Starting South Canton Electric meant putting all of that experience to work for his own community, under his own name, and with his own standards.
In the nearly two decades since, South Canton Electric has grown through word of mouth and repeat business — the most honest kind of growth there is. Customers who've used us for a panel upgrade come back for a generator hookup. Homeowners recommend us to their neighbors. Local businesses call us when something goes wrong. That's the track record we're proud of.
We serve Canton and the full Stark County region, including Massillon, North Canton, Alliance, Louisville, and surrounding townships. Staying local has always been intentional. Alan Holt
Founder & Manager — South Canton Electric
Alan Holt has been working in the electrical trade for years, building up hands-on experience across residential and commercial projects throughout Canton and northeastern Ohio. He knows the work inside and out — from diagnosing a tricky circuit issue to overseeing a complete panel replacement or whole-home rewiring project. That depth of experience is what he brings to every job South Canton Electric takes on.
As manager, Alan sets the standard for how the team operates. He takes pride in running a business where customers are treated fairly, the work gets done right, and nobody has to wonder if they were overcharged or handed unnecessary repairs. For Alan, it comes down to doing good work for people in the community he calls home.
His approach is direct: clear communication about what's needed, honest pricing with no surprises, and showing up when he says he will. Those aren't just talking points — they're the way South Canton Electric has operated since day one, and the reason customers keep coming back.
